Museum of Farnham

The Museum of Farnham is a local history museum, located in a beautiful Georgian town house with many original features and a delightful walled garden. Visit us to discover Farnham’s history, from its prehistoric roots to its hop growing boom and Georgian grandeur.

The Museum is also home to an extensive art and craft collection thanks to the many artists and crafts people who have been drawn to Farnham over the years.

The Museum of Farnham is part of Farnham Maltings Association, a creative organisation that works with artists and communities to encourage the most people to make, see and enjoy the best art possible. The Museum works actively with the Farnham Maltings to reach these goals.

Children & Families

Families can engage with all of our exhibits together, with special interpretation for children. There are trails to for children to complete, traditional brass rubbing and touchscreensin some gallerie. The whole family can try on different historical outfits, from the Romans through to the Victorian period.

Schools & Teachers

For KS1 and KS2 pupils , the museum offers full and half-day sessions on a range of topics including Victorians, Anglo Saxons, Tudors, Florence Nightingale, the Seaside, Toys and Mini Museum.

If you can’t get to us, not a problem! We can bring these sessions to you as part of our outreach programme.

Students & Young People

The Museum is home to a wonderful local studies library, full of information about Farnaham and it surrounding areas. It is accessible during our opening hours (Tues-Sat, 10am-5pm).

There is also opportunities to study our collection, done by appointment only.

Adult & Community

The Museum and its garden are a great day out for any club or society. You can also hire our garden gallery for events or workshops.

There is additional information throughout the galleries for those with specialist interests and volunteers on hand to answer your questions.
