There is something for every member of the family at Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village. Explore their Permanent Collection and latest temporary exhibitions together by picking up one of their free family trails, including the sensory Artists’ Village Backpack full of quizzes, games and tactile objects.

Enjoy swings, stepping stones and building camps in the Verey Playwood, and stop by the Make Space every Sunday for arts and crafts activities suitable for all ages (free with admission). Visit during the School Holidays for creative drop-in workshops inspired by the season. Under 18s go free.

Schools & Teachers

Inspire your students and enhance your classroom teaching with a visit to Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village – a creative backdrop for students to explore a range of subjects linked to the national curriculum and post-14 exam courses. Come along for a self-guided tour or engage students with brilliant activities led by the creative learning team.

The programme includes interactive tours, artist-led workshops, activities and projects through which students and teachers can discover hundreds of paintings and sculptures, as well as craft and design, restored artist studios, heritage buildings and beautiful woodlands. All visits can be tailored for ages 4-18, to compliment the delivery of the National Curriculum and post-16 syllabus, and support Arts Award and Artsmark.

Students and under-25s receive 50% off admission to Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village. Explore their permanent collection and latest temporary exhibition in the historic Watts Gallery, before discovering affordable contemporary art for sale in Watts Contemporary Gallery. Visit the Artist-in-Residence studio to see live demonstrations from a variety of makers and unlock your own creative potential by signing up for one of their creative workshops and courses. Be inspired by writers, artists, historians and more in the atmospheric Watts Gallery during an evening talk and join them for special weekend events throughout the year, including the annual Make Festival.

Every season, Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village compliments its pioneering exhibitions with a programme of creative workshops, courses and inspiring talks. Hear from writers, artists, historians, scientists and more in the atmospheric setting of the historic Watts Gallery during an evening talk.
