If you’ve been to West Byfleet in the last few days, you’ll see it is looking quite different! There are over 100 Grenadier Guards on duty all around the village thanks to the inspiration and encouragement of Janet Hughes seen here protecting the Queen’s Crown Jewels.

Janet is the organiser of a community knitting group, the Wit Knits. Together with an army of volunteers, they knitted the Grenadier Guards that now grace the bollards around the centre of the village as well as the Queen, the Crown jewels and even the Corgis!

Aren’t they fabulous?
